Information for Volunteers

New Volunteers :  The WCPSS now requires all volunteers to complete an on-line application at a school site.  Volunteers may apply as Level 1, 2, 3, or 4.  Level 1 volunteers work under school supervision and have little or no student contact.  Level 2 volunteers work in a classroom or other group setting under the direct supervision of a teacher.  Level 3 volunteers work with direct contact with students under limited supervision of school staff.  Level 4 volunteers may be with students unsupervised on or off campus.  Level 3 and Level 4 volunteers MUST go through a criminal background check.  In order to volunteer for ANY activity at the school, volunteers must be registered and approved. 

Volunteers Who Registered Last Year : 

1.  All volunmteers need to log into the system using the same login information as last year (First Name, Last Name, Last 4 SSN Digits, and Date of Birth) and respond to questions as appropriate to their interests and level of activity.

2.  Each volunteer should look at their personal data to verify there are no changes to their application or UPDATE application as needed (Address, Phone #, Emergency Contact, Selected Schools, etc.).  The system should bring up their application from last year excluding the background check information, provided the 4-part login is entered the same way as last year.  If not, the school volunteer coordinator (Penny Vagle, pvagle@wcpss.net ) can check to see how the information was entered last year.  PLEASE DO NOT CREATE A NEW VOLUNTEER APPLICATION IF YOU ARE ALREADY IN THE SYSTEM.

3.  Click the SAVE button at the bottom of the data screen.  This will confirm that your data is updated and you are still active in our school system.

For All Volunteers :  At Enloe, you may register or re-register on computers in the Media Center.  There will also be a sign-in book in each office for you to use each time you volunteer.  On the first day that you volunteer, please be sure to fill out a confidential information form (found in each notebook) and give that form to the secretary.  Each time you volunteer, you will need to fill out a name tag identifying yourself as a volunteer.  We look forward to working with you this year.
