Your group will:

• After researching the European Union and Germany's role in it, you will create a power point on the general background of Germany's role in the  European Union.

            This will be a general informational presentation.  Include such information as:
 1.  When did the Germany's involvement begin (What was the Eurpean Coal and Steel
                         Community)?
                    2.  How strong a role does Germany play in the EC?
                    3.  What is the purpose of this alliance and will adding new countries to it align with that
                         purpose?
                    4.  What are some of the major issues facing the organization currently?

• Develop a chart describing the positive and negative arguments for accepting this Eastern European country into the EC.

• As a group vote on whether Germany should vote for acceptance of this country into the EC.

• Write a position paper that will convince your country's legislature that it should okay the decision your group made.
