Review by Matt D. and Tony C.
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is in my opinion one of the greatest stories ever told. This novel tells the story of Victor Frankenstein and his disastrous experiment with the reanimation of dead tissue. Shelley vividly illustrates the mental demise of Frankenstein as his creation runs amok and kills everyone he loves. This story shows how destruction can come from obsessive pursuit of knowledge. Although not very believable, the science fiction portion of Frankenstein is very entertaining. Even more impressive, this novel was written by a seventeen year old. The dialouge, although quite wordy, vivdly shows the feelings of the characters. A dictionary is necessary to completely enjoy frankenstein even if one scored 1600 on the SAT. I recomend this story only to a person who enjoys reading and has a decent vocabulary. This novel scores a 9.3 on my scale.
