China
Lao Tzu was born in China, in the imperial capital of Luoyang.
Chinese civilization began
around 4000 BC around the Yellow River Valley. It is most likely
that Lao Tzu lived here. The Yellow River is the most northern river
in China. Directly to the south lie the Yangtze and Red rivers. The
furtile soil and water supply allowed early agricultural developments to
take place. He most likely lived under the Chou dynasty, loosely around
the time of Confucious. No records of these people have been left,
so concrete dates are not known.
