Time Period
There were alot of things going
on between the time period that Chinua Achebe was born and now. The
Nigerians were in a conflict called the Biafran War. This war was
all about the Nigerian government wanting to gain control over the piece
known as Biafran. The Biafrans did not want to give up their land
because they were the only people who spoke Ibo. They felt like they
should be isolated from other countries so that they could keep their tribe
together through hard times such as the Biafran war. The Nigerians
did not want to give up their quest for land, so on a attempt to expand
their territory they attacked the little country known as Biafran.
Also in the time period Nigeria gained their independence from Great Britian.
