The Great Bird Escape

"Mom, I'm scared" I cried out as the big white bird with yellow feathers started chasing after my mom, aunt, grandmother and me.
"I'm running out of breath," panted my aunt as she kept on running to get away from the bird. The bird kept on squawking at us and running faster to try to catch up to us. The sun was beating down on us as if we were in an oven. Big bullets of Sweat were dripping down our faces onto our clothing. "I don't think we'll ever out run this bird," shouted my grandmother as she tried to speed past us. I bet you are wondering how we got in this mess. Well let me tell you. It all began when
my family started packing for our annual trip down to sunny South Florida. I was ten years old when this happened.
"Mandy, are you packed and ready to go?" shouted my mom as she was loading up the car. "Yes! Come on Evan and Eric or we will be late," I exclaimed as I walked past their rooms with my bag and pillow in hand. My bag was as heavy as a rock.
"Daddy! Can you help me carry my bag downstairs?" I shouted as I stood at the top of the stairs. "Sure honey, I'll be up in a second," yelled my dad as he finished putting something in the car. After we were all packed and ready I said my goodbyes to my two-year-old white American Shorthaired cat with lime green colored eyes named Minnie. She looked so…  sad, and I felt bad that we had to leave her alone for two weeks. Luckily my neighbor next door would be coming in to check on her once daily. I told her that I would think about her everyday.
"Come on, or we will be late!" yelled my mom to my brothers and me as she got into our red minivan. After everyone was in the car we were off to sunny South Florida to see our family. The drive is about fourteen hours long. I get so… bored.
"Stop touching me Eric!" I whined as I went to touch him back.
"That's enough! Eric, leave Mandy alone," yelled my mom. The car is small and has one big seat in the back, two separate seats in the middle, and the two seats in front. My three-year-old brother Evan and I sat in the middle and my eight-year-old brother Eric sat in the back. I love my seat because it is leather and it reclines back.
"I wonder how everyone will look," I thought to myself as I sat back     NEXT         in my chair and took off my shoes. I decided to play some music to try and kill some time so I put on my headphones. I decided to listen to my Backstreet Boys CD. I was about halfway through listening to it when I dosed off to sleep. I had taken out my small blanket with rainbow stripes on it that I have had ever since I was born and my stuffed animal bunny to help me go to sleep along with my music.
"Mandy! Wake up and put your shoes on so we can get some lunch," whispered my dad as he was shaking me. I got up and rubbed my eyes as I began to put my shoes on. I slept for about an hour. I felt well rested.
"Ooh! I love Cracker Barrel!" I thought to myself as I hopped out of the car. We were there for about thirty minutes. After listening to almost half the CD's I brought with me, playing some games, and having my brothers annoy me we finally made it to sunny South Florida.
"I love the weather here!" I exclaimed, as I looked out the window.

Big White bird that was
chasing us.
