"Mandy, when will we be at Grandma and Papa's house?" questioned my three-year-old brother.
"I think very soon," I answered back.
"I want to watch T.V. when we get to Grandma and Papa's house" pointed out my eight year old brother Eric.
"Why don't we spend some time with Grandma and Papa first since they haven't seen us in a while" proclaimed my mom as she sat back in her seat.
"Okay!" sighed Eric as he put his head down on the armrest.
"We're here! We're here!" I cried out in excitement as I jumped up and down in my chair. Once we pulled up on their driveway I jumped out of the car and ran to their front door. Their house is an average sized house with gray siding and a one-car garage. I rang the doorbell and my Grandmother came and opened the door. Her blue eyes twinkled as she opened the door. She was so… excited to see us.
"How are you doing?" asked my Grandmother giving me a hug.
"You guys have grown so much" pointed out my Grandfather as he walked slowly on over to the door. He stopped to scratch his balding head with little wisps of gray hair on top. You could see the brown in his eyes begin to glow.
"I am doing fine" I proclaimed. My mom and dad began to bring the luggage in from the car and put it in their guest bedroom.
"So what have you been up to Mom and Dad?" my Dad asked as he took off his shoes.
"Not too much, just doing some cleaning and playing cards with our friends" exclaimed my grandparents. After all the talking and catching up we sat down to dinner. My Grandmother made a delicious dinner for us. The sweet aroma of the warm rolls, hot steamy pasta, creamy corn, and mouth watering chicken cutlets melted like butter in my mouth. The food was excellent. After dinner we all talked some more and then went to bed. Me and my brother Evan slept on the sofa bed in their den and Eric slept on the sofa in their living room. My parents got their guest bedroom. The next day we woke up to the smell of fresh eggs, warm pancakes, toast and some orange juice my Grandmother prepared for us.
"Thank you Grandma!" me and my brother's exclaimed as we sat down at the table. After breakfast we got dressed and ready to go and visit my Great Grandfather. He lives about 45 minutes away from my grandparent's house. I was elated to go because my Aunt and Uncle from Arizona and my grandparents from Raleigh where we live would be there too.
Once we got there I leaped out of the car and ran to the front door to ring the doorbell. My Great Grandfather answered the door. He is petite with gray hair wispy hair on top of his balding head and has brown eyes that sparkle when he smiles. He is somewhat chubby for his age and is 90 years old.
"Hi Grandpa Joe!" I exclaimed as he opened the door slowly.
"Hi Mandy! How are you doing?" asked my great grandfather.
"I am fine," I said.
'Hi Eric and Evan, how are you guys doing?" asked my great grandfather as they walked inside the house.
"We are doing fine" said Eric and Evan. My great grandfather lives in an apartment in this big complex with other senior citizens. He lives on the first floor so it is easy for him to come and go. His apartment is small and has a kitchen, dinning room/living room, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a patio. He lives alone since his wife died about twelve years ago. That was really sad and I never even got to meet her. Everyone was already there.
"Hi Aunt Melanie and Uncle Burt! Hi Grandma and Papa!" I exclaimed as I walked into the room. My aunt is petite and has short auburn hair and brown eyes that glitter when she smiles. My uncle is tall and has thin short brown hair and brown eyes. My grandmother is petite and has short blondish white hair and has baby blue eyes. My grandfather is average for his height and has gray wispy hair on top of his head and hazel eyes just like my mom.
"It's so good to see all of you!" Exclaimed my aunt as she got up to hug us.
" How are you doing sis?" asked my aunt as she went to give my mom a hug.
"I am doing fine, just getting the kids through school." Giggled my mom as she hugged my aunt back.
"How are you doing Jack?" asked my uncle as he shook my dad's hand.
"Fine, how about you?" my dad asked back.
"I am doing fine, I have been pretty busy with my job and I play golf every weekend" After a lot of time spent talking and catching up it was time for lunch. My great grandfather had prepared lunch, which consisted of sandwiches, chips, fruit, and soda. The food was stupendous and satisfied my hunger pains. After lunch was through all the women decided it would be nice to go for a walk outside around the complex and look at the garden.
"How about we go outside to walk around the complex," suggested my grandmother as she made her way out of her chair.
"Okay!" exclaimed mom, my aunt, and me.
"All the guys will stay behind and talk and watch some T.V," proclaimed my grandfather as he had another sip of his soda. All the girls walked outside.
"We will be back later," shouted my mom as she closed the door behind her. It was really hot outside as if fire was all around us.  NEXT
"Boy it's hot out here," I pointed out as I wiped sweat off my forehead. We walked all the way over to the garden and began to admire the colorful flowers.
"Wow! Look at this beautiful flower! I love the colors!" pointed out my aunt as she reached out to touch a flower. After about ten minutes of looking at the flowers and smelling them we hear this strange noise and all of a sudden we look up and see this big bird that looked about three feet tall with white feathers staring at us with its big green eyes.
"What is that scary looking creature?" I squeaked as I walked slowly over towards my mom.
"I think that it is a goose," whispered my grandmother as she backed up slowly as not to scare the bird. Then all of a sudden the bird started squawking at us.
"Squawk! Squawk! Squawk!" aforementioned the bird. Then it began to run towards us. We all panicked and our bodies began to shake and quiver so we started to run. The bird kept on running faster to try and catch up with us but we kept on running faster.
"I'm scared," I cried out as the big bird started chasing us.
"I know, I am scared to," gasped my mom as she began to get tired.
"I'm running out of breath," groaned my aunt as she kept on running to get away from the bird.
" I don't think we will ever outrun this bird," shouted my grandmother as she tried to run past us to gain some speed. The bird chased us for almost an hour and we felt like we were going to die and never see our family again.
"I wonder if the guys are getting worried," asked my mom as she kept on running. Back at the apartment the guys were watching some T.V and talking.
"I wonder where the girls are," questioned Eric as he lay down on the couch.
"They're probably still walking around and talking," aforesaid my great grandfather as he poured himself another glass of soda.
"Squawk! Squawk! Squawk!" aforementioned the bird as it kept on chasing us. We were running up and down the street and thru the entrance ways and gardens and we couldn't get the bird to stop chasing us.
"Will this bird ever get tired?"  I Questioned as I was trying to catch my breath. We turned into some little alleyway and looked behind us to see if the bird was still chasing us.
"I think the bird has stopped chasing us," pointed out my aunt as she stopped to take a breather. We all stopped to catch our breath. We had been running for almost an hour and couldn't stop.
"My legs ache!" I groaned as I rubbed them with my hands to try and soothe the pain.
"I'm all sweaty and gross and smell like cow manure!" proclaimed my mom as she wiped sweat from her head.
"Oh no! The bird has found us!" I shrieked as I looked behind us.
"We'd better run" Shouted out my Grandmother panting as she started to run again.

"We are almost back to grandpa's apartment," shouted my aunt as she started to run again. We ran for another ten minutes until we finally reached my Great Grandfather's apartment. We quickly ran inside and slammed the door shut before the bird
