The MBSA Mission

The mission of the Enloe Medical Bio-Science Academy is "to provide students with sound academic foundations and technical skills that will enable them to continue their educations beyond high school and obtain employment in health-care fields."

Through the efforts of team planning, Enloe has developed a curriculum that integrates the technical skills and terminology of health-related occupations. Core courses and specific electives are offered. The total curriculum is designed to nurture student interest in health-related careers and to better advise them of career options in the medical field.

Membership Requirements

  • 80% attendance for General MBSA meetings (held once a month)
  • A minimum grade point average of 2.5 with no more than 2 grades lower than a C
  • Attendance on the Rex/Wake Tech field trip
  • Payment of a $10 due each year
  • CPR certification by senior year (A free class is made available on a limited basis)
  • At least 120 recorded hours of community service
  • Completion of the MBSA academic curriculum

How to Apply

Students applying to the Academy should possess high interest in the medical field, exemplary attendance, self-motivation discipline, initiative, grade-conscious attitude, leadership qualities, maturity, and good communication skills.
