In April 2000, the Mathematics and Physics Department at Wake Technical Community College received a National Science Foundation grant titled, "Making Math Meaningful Through Workplace Research."  The grant provides funds for four workshops over two years.

These grant workshops give teachers a chance to perform workplace research and find out how math is used in industry.  Based on the workplace research, the teachers write "mathematical snapshots" of workplace applications.  The applications will be used by teachers in the classroom.

The Summer 2000 Workshop Snapshots can be accessed by following the above links to participating industries.
