National Enloe Mathematics Olympiad

The National Enloe Mathematics Olympiad (NEMO) is given to middle school students to prepare them for challenging individual and team-based competitions they will likely encounter in high school. The middle schools that compete are Ligon, Martin, Carnage and Carrington.

The contest this year was written and organized by Enloe's Vivek Bhattacharya and Daniel Vitek. John Berman of J.T. Hoggard High School and Damien Jiang from Cary Academy were also involved in orchestrating the contest. A $365 grant from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center sponsors NEMO, though teams are charged $15 for participating. Vivek wrote the original grant proposal and collaborates with Ms. Ginny DeLuca from the NC Biotech Center.

John Noland and Celia Rowland serve as faculty advisors.
