The Ancient Americas and the Impact of European Exploration
Ms. Mergenthaler's Classes' Projects
We are studying the Ancient Americas, the people and their history, as well as the impact of European exploration on the Native Americans.
You have all been assigned a topic to research. You will use the information from your research to create web pages on your topic.

For your Internet Research we have reserved time for our classes in the East Building Computer Lab.

While working in this lab, the following is expected of you
  • Stay on task, working on this project only, at all times
  • Prepare notes on information you might use by
    • opening a MS Word document
    • copying and pasting web addresses and information from web pages into that document
    • writing your own observations, etc.
  • Save your notes document (with your name as the file name) to the following location
    • Lab 127E   -  Mergenthaler  -  Your Class Period's  Folder  -   Your Folder
You may also save anything you want to take home to a diskette. If you need to borrow one,  just ask. We have plenty of recycled diskettes to loan.
  • Each day you are in the lab prepare an annotated bibliography of the sources from which you got the information in your notes. Copy and paste (to avoid errors) each web address you used and write a few sentences describing the site and/or its usefulness for your project. Save this document and print it at the end of the period. Hand in the printed copy to be counted as part of your project grade.
  • Please to not print web pages! They are graphics intensive and we cannot afford the toner to print them. You may print any of the Word documents you create.
  • Do not attempt to send or receive E-Mail in the computer lab at anytime. If an E-mail site appears on your screen, you will no longer be working at the computer.

The following links to web pages may be helpful to you in getting started on your project.
