This program offers students committed to an academic high school English curriculum the necessary preparation for successful performance in some college's or in other challenging post-high school educational or work experience. Each quarter students read at least two major works (novels or plays) and short selections. Writing assignments meet the composition requirements of the Wake County curriculum. Writing and literature electives are recommended to accelerate skill development. English Grades 9-12 This program offers the same curriculum as academic English, but the approach to instruction takes individual learning needs into consideration in small classes. Students receive guidance and assistance in reading comprehension, literary interpretation, writing, speaking, and vocabulary development. |
