Curricular Offerings

The curricular offerings in the Enloe band program tend to be somewhat rigorous and are intended only for students who are committed to practicing and improving on their instrument. All band classes require a spring audition for placement. Students who audition will be placed in one of the following classes:

Concert Classes

1st period Symphonic Winds – Woodwind players only
2nd period Symphonic Brass – Brass players only
6th period Wind Ensemble – Premiere performing ensemble (upper-classmen only)
8th period Percussion – All Enloe percussionists

Jazz Improvisation Classes

3rd period Jazz Improvisation – limited to 12, must interview/audition
7th period Advanced Jazz Improvisation – represents Enloe jazz in many performances

Extra-Curricular Offering: Marching Band

Socialization is certainly an important aspect of a well-rounded public school experience. Opportunities to make 100 friends, to learn to cooperate as a team, to learn to give and receive instruction, and to travel with your buddies are all available in the single largest competitive organization at Enloe …the Emerald Eagle Marching Band!

The Marching Band consists of approximately 100 dedicated students who represent some of the highest GPA’s and strongest leaders at Enloe! At Enloe we do not require students to join MB in order to be in a concert class. Rather, we require the opposite, that all MB students be enrolled in a concert class. Additionally, our rehearsal schedule does not interfere with the concert curriculum, but reinforces it. We rehearse after school on Mondays and Tuesdays 2:45-4:30, and Thursdays 2:45-5:30.
