Driver's Education Basic Information:Students must be at least 14 years, 6 months old to take a Driver Education class. Students are required to complete 30 hours in the driver education classroom and 6 hours behind the wheel instruction. Driver education classes are scheduled throughout the school year, and during the summer. Behind the wheel driving is conducted after school between 2:30pm and 9pm, and from 8am until 9pm on Saturdays, during the summer and any time students are out of school. Students are driven by age, oldest called first, after completing the classroom phase of driver education. Classroom Registration:Please sign up now for any class offered below. Students are highly encouraged to sign up as soon as possible as there is a high demand for classes. Students that are not 14½ can register early for a fall class in which they will turn 14½ on or before the day the class starts. Registration forms can be obtained at the main office, Student Services or click here for a printable form. Return completed forms to the driver education drop box at Student Services, drop box putside computer lab, room 1202 and to the main office. Forms will be considered, first come, first served. Classes in RED are full; all other summer classes are open until highlighted in RED.
Notification of class assignments:Click here to check class assignments. Eye Examination Schedule:Mr. Graham Broadwell, DMV representative, is scheduled to visit Enloe driver education classes to check the eyes of the students. If you were in a previous class and had a medical form issued to you or an 804 form to take to your eye doctor, you are encouraged to come back to class on one of these dates to update your paperwork. Please inform Emma Haynes when you plan to come to get your eyes rechecked. Students cannot drive until all vision examination paperwork is complete and signed by Mr. Broadwell. Behind the Wheel Training:Please be patient as we attempt to drive students as quickly as possible. When you are called, please remember to write down:
If you finished the classroom phase at least 6 weeks ago and have not been called to drive, please contact Mrs. Haynes to discuss your situation. If you did not pass the eye exam or get your eyes checked during class, you cannot do the BTW training and will not be called to drive until that is done. Check above to see the eye examination schedule to see when Mr. Broadwell will be scheduled to be on campus. Behind the Wheel Instructors:Please be aware that these are the drivers that most likely will be calling you to drive. Each is responsible for creating his own driving schedule, so please work with them when called for BTW instruction. If you are driving during the summer or break, you may be called by other Jordan Driving School personnel.
