Future Problem Solvers

Meetings: Tuesdays from 2:30pm to 3:30pm in Mrs. Cottrells room- 2618

The Future Problem Solving Program (FPSP) was founded in 1974 by the late Dr. E. Paul Torrance. It enables capable and driven students in teams of four to submit competitively solutions to plausible future scenarios, using the uniquely orgainized six-step FPS system. This culminates in both state and international competitions, wherein competing FPS teams from around the nation and globe submit their own solutions to the problems at hand. The goal of FPS is to create a cohesive peer environment where students are stimulated to think logically, creativley, and critically about problems of today and tomorrow.
