The Enloe Speech and Debate Team offers a unique opportunity for participating Enloe students Debate is divided into several categories, including:

  • Lincoln-Douglas Debate
  • Congressional Debate
  • Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Public Forum
  • Original Oratory
  • Impromptu Speaking

Out of town tournmaents are held almost every weekend. The Enloe Speech and Debate Team attends on average one a month. In 2011, they attended the 71st High School Tournament, Pinecrest Tournament and Northwest Guilford High School Tournament.

The Enloe Speech and Debate Team is affiliated with the National Forensic League (NFL) and the Tar Heel Forensic League. The National Forensics League is the oldest and largest high school speech organization in America. It was founded in 1925 to encourage and motivate high school students to participate in and become proficient in the forensic arts: debate, public speaking, and interpretation. Since its founding, the NFL has enrolled over 1,052,891 members in all fifty states, U.S. possessions and several foreign countries. Currently over 93,000 high school students and over 2500 high school teachers are active members.
