The Enloe Speech and Debate Team

Meetings: Tuesdays from 2:30pm to 3:30pm in Rm 1617.

The Enloe Speech and Debate Team offers a unique opportunity for participating Enloe students. Debate is divided into several categories, including:

  • Lincoln-Douglas Debate
  • Student Congress
  • Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Public Forum
  • Original Oratory
  • Impromptu Speaking

The Enloe Speech and Debate Team sends small groups to compete in out-of-town tournaments nearly every weekend.

The Enloe Speech and Debate Team is affiliated with the National Forensic League (NFL) and the Tar Heel Forensic League. The National Forensics League is the oldest and largest high school speech organization in America. It was founded in 1925 to encourage and motivate high school students to participate in and become proficient in the forensic arts: debate, public speaking, and interpretation. Since its founding, the NFL has enrolled over 1,052,891 members in all fifty states, U.S. possessions and several foreign countries. Currently over 93,000 high school students and over 2500 high school teachers are active members.
